Our team is back and thrilled to share a big thank you to PSI Software – Process Industries & Metals for hosting such a well-structured and welcoming event. It was fantastic to meet industry experts, customers, and partners face-to-face.

Stefan Rauch had the great opportunity to showcase how we bridge the ERP and MES worlds through our Cross-System Workflow approach.

Demonstrating seamless integration with PSImetals on-premise versions while supporting the PSI Service Platform strategy and enabling SAP integrations step by step. We’re grateful for the engaging conversations and the warm hospitality throughout.

We’re excited to announce the newest addition to our German footprint: a brand-new office in Düsseldorf, just minutes from DUS Airport.

This strategic location strengthens our presence in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), improves connectivity for our teams, and brings us closer to our partners and customers in the heart of Germany.

To mark the occasion, we hosted a two-day team event that brought together nearly all employees and several partners. Meeting in person is invaluable—it builds trust, aligns us on current projects, helps us prepare for what’s ahead, and gives us time to connect beyond work.

We also took the opportunity to capture fresh team photos and officially inaugurate our new space at Parseval Square. It was a powerful reminder of the collaborative spirit that drives metalsXP forward.

You can run all the process workshops you want – but standing in the actual flow of operations?
That’s a whole different experience.

The Hashtag#metalsXP team had the chance to visit our customer SSAB at their Hämeenlinna site in Finland 🇫🇮. What we saw wasn’t just impressive machinery and logistics – it was the physical reality behind the Hashtag#DataObjects we work with every day.
Understanding in more detail how Hashtag#SSAB’s different sites connect – the various routes that products take, and how broad the product portfolio truly is – gave us invaluable input for shaping the Hashtag#ProductDefinition area of the new business platform.

Event recap! The 2024 Rasselstein DigitalTage! 🚀

Last week, my colleague Sebastian Mayer and I had the opportunity to represent metalsXP at the Hashtag#Digitaltage2024 at @thyssenkruppRasselstein.

The Digitaltage have once again shown how innovation needs to go hand in hand in cooperation with our partners!

Our highlights were certainly

- getting hands-on insights into the digitization efforts within the steel industry,
- the exciting discussions with the specialist departments about the metalsXP approach to automated order processing, the support the Hashtag#UnifiedBackendConnector can provide
- and how the automated transfer of certificate data using the Hashtag#DigitalMaterialPassport can guarantee secure traceability.

We started the “SAP for Process Industries and Natural Resources Conference” with our clients and partners! 🌟

Our Conference Kick-Off Event was an evening of meaningful discussions about the transition of the materials industry and how DMP and metalsXP, together with SAP solutions, can support industry players in managing this complex transition.

And this was all with a unique view over the rooftops of Vienna—the event took place in one of the biggest and oldest steel constructions in the city, the Vienna Giant Wheel!

Keep an eye on what is currently happening in the Nordics:
Last week, Niko Korte (VP, Head of Fossil Free Business Platforms) presented SSAB's journey to fossil-free steel to a wider audience at the SAP for Process Industries and Natural Resources conference.

SSAB is on its way to fossil-free steel production, and with the Hashtag#Aurora program it is leading one of the largest industrial and digital transformation programs in the Nordics, fundamentally changing Nordic steel production.

Living sustainability in the long term means harmonizing all three pillars of sustainability: Economy, Environment and Social Impact.
With a brave attitude, bold decisions, a clear understanding of the growing demand for fossil-free steel and the steel industry's responsibility for 7% of global CO2 emissions per year, the goal is no longer just to reduce CO2 emissions, but to remove them.

The first milestone will be reached in 2026 with the conversion of the electric arc furnace (EAF) in Oxelösund, which will reduce Sweden's CO2 emissions by 3%. This will be followed by a fossil-free mini-mill in Luleå, Sweden, which will allow SSAB to shut down the existing blast furnace-based production system and further reduce Sweden's CO2 emissions by 7%. Similar projects will follow, including another mini-mill in Finland, which is expected to reduce Finland's emissions by 7%.

As the Aurora team, we see ourselves as ONE-Team made up of different partners. At metalsXP, we fully recognize the opportunity and also the responsibility we have to make a meaningful impact with our work.
